PROJECT LUMEN - B2B PRE-ORDER

Disinfection, measured.

A UV-C ballast that retrofits into existing fluorescent fixtures and delivers precisely the dose required to disinfect-safely, whether the room is empty or occupied.

The problem

Episodic cleaning. Constant contamination.

Bathrooms, locker rooms, and cold storage get wiped down once a shift-and recontaminate immediately. Odor-causing bacteria, drug-resistant pathogens, and biofilms thrive between cleanings. The standard response is more labor, more chemicals, and more downtime. None of it is continuous. None of it is measured.

99.9% Target log-reduction of common surface pathogens under a validated dose.

How it works

Installed in minutes. Safe by design.

Where it works

One ballast. Every demanding environment.

Shared shower and locker room disinfection

Showers & locker rooms

Continuous UV-C dosing between uses eliminates odor-causing bacteria and mold on tile, grout, and benches - without the chemical overhead of a deep clean every shift.

  • Odor reduction measured at the source, not masked
  • Runs during scheduled use with automatic dimming
  • Ideal for gyms, schools, stadiums, and military facilities
Commercial bathroom disinfection

Commercial bathrooms

The ambient aerosol and surface load in a high-traffic restroom is constant. Lumen holds a validated dose across every surface line-of-sight, 24 hours a day.

  • Keeps stalls, sinks, and floors continuously treated
  • Safe with visitors present via occupancy interlock
  • Offices, transit hubs, venues, and retail footprints
Walk-in freezer and food service disinfection

Walk-in freezers & food service

UV-C is one of the only disinfection methods that works at -10 degrees F. Lumen installs in existing cold-box fluorescent fixtures and extends product shelf life while suppressing listeria and mold.

  • Operates across the full commercial cold chain
  • HACCP-compatible with validated logs
  • Restaurants, grocery, cold storage, commissaries

The technology

Patented dosage. Engineered safety. Managed from your phone.

Controlled dosage

Lumen's closed-loop driver meters UV-C output in real time, compensating for lamp aging, temperature, and ambient reflectance. Every cycle delivers the validated minimum dose-never wasted, never insufficient.

Occupancy-aware safety

Multi-zone presence sensing plus hardware interlocks automatically reduce emissions to safe levels when the space is occupied, and return to full treatment the moment it's clear. Safety is a property of the system, not a procedure.

Premium control

A control app that feels like it belongs on your home screen.

Schedule treatment cycles, monitor dose history, and export compliance-ready logs for every fixture in every location. Built to the same quality bar you expect from Apple, Stripe, or your best internal tool.

  • Fleet-wide dose telemetry
  • Maintenance alerts before lamps fade
  • Exportable compliance logs

Terms of Reservation

Terms of Reservation. Your deposit secures a production slot for Project Lumen and is applied toward the final purchase price when your order is invoiced. The deposit is fully refundable on written request any time before your unit ships; once we issue the balance-due invoice, the deposit becomes non-refundable except as required by law. The estimated ship window is provided in good faith and is not a guaranteed delivery date-the reservation service itself is delivered immediately on purchase, and the physical unit ships later under a separate invoice for the remaining balance.

Answers

Questions our customers ask first.

Is UV-C safe to run while people are in the space?

Yes. Lumen combines dual-technology occupancy sensing (PIR plus microwave) with hardware-level interlocks that automatically dim or shut down UV-C output the moment a person is detected. When the space clears, Lumen ramps back up to its validated disinfection dose without operator intervention. This lets the system run 24/7 in active facilities without creating a human exposure risk, in alignment with ACGIH and IEC 62471 guidance.

How is this different from a portable UV cart or wand?

Portable UV units treat a space once, for a few minutes, then leave. Recontamination starts immediately. Lumen is built into the light fixture itself, so disinfection is continuous and measured, not episodic. Our patented closed-loop driver meters the exact UV-C dose in real time, adjusting for lamp age, temperature, and reflectance so you never over- or under-dose.

What certifications will Lumen carry?

We are targeting UL 1598 (luminaires), FCC Part 15 (EMC), and IEC 62471 (photobiological safety) at launch. Final certification status, test reports, and compliance letters are sent to reservation holders before their units ship. If your facility requires NSF, CE, or other region-specific marks, let your account manager know during reservation and we will confirm feasibility.

How does installation work, and do I need an electrician?

Yes, a licensed electrician should perform the swap. Lumen replaces the existing ballast inside a standard fluorescent fixture, typically in about 15 minutes per fixture. No new wiring, no new housings, no conduit changes. We ship detailed install documentation and offer white-glove commissioning support for reservation holders managing 25 or more fixtures.

What fixtures and lamps is Lumen compatible with?

Lumen is built for standard T8 and T5HO commercial fluorescent housings using G13 and G5 sockets, at 17W, 25W, and 32W classes. It operates across a -18 to 50 degrees Celsius range, so it is equally at home in a humid shower room or a walk-in freezer. Tell us your fixture inventory during reservation and we will confirm fit.

How much does it cost to operate? What happens when lamps age?

Operating cost is comparable to a standard fluorescent ballast - there is no incremental energy draw beyond the lamp itself. The closed-loop driver continuously compensates for lamp aging, increasing drive current as UV-C output decays, so every cycle still lands on the validated dose. The fleet control app alerts you roughly 60 days before a lamp needs replacement so you can schedule service, not react to failures.

Can I monitor Lumen across multiple sites?

Yes. Every Lumen ballast reports dose, runtime, occupancy events, and health telemetry to the Lumen fleet app over Wi-Fi 6 with BLE 5.3 failover. You get a live view across every location, per-fixture compliance logs exportable as CSV or PDF, role-based access for facilities staff, and alerts routed to email or webhook for integration with your existing BMS or ticketing system.

When will units ship?

Our current target shipping window is noted on the reservation section above. Reservation holders are prioritized in production order by deposit date. We update every reservation holder proactively as manufacturing milestones firm up and again two weeks before their allocated ship date.

What warranty comes with Lumen?

Lumen ships with a 5-year commercial warranty covering the ballast, driver electronics, and occupancy sensing. Lamps are consumables and are not covered under the unit warranty. Reservation holders receive the full terms document along with their purchase agreement before the balance invoice is issued.

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes. Your deposit is fully refundable on written request at any time before your unit ships. Once we issue your balance-due invoice and production is allocated against your reservation, the deposit becomes non-refundable except where required by law. The full policy is in the Terms of Reservation above.
